Reform Radiology

Challenges

Reform Radiology, established in 2023, wanted to improve the essential radiology services for the Christchurch area, allowing for faster, more cost-effective treatment. Doing so meant adding a second location at 144 Kilmore Street to specialise as a Molecular Imaging & Therapy Centre.

Solutions

Working with medical fit-out expert Focusplan and Inline Architecture for the plans, we were able to add a new 380-square-metre site for Reform Radiology.

The facility offers both PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging modalities, along with two dedicated treatment rooms, changing cubicles, four uptake rooms, and essential staff and administrative areas.

The design emphasises patient comfort, incorporating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. The reception area features wave-patterned panels, while the treatment rooms are enhanced with vibrant wall graphics and a lightbox. The graphics display peaceful pastoral and woodland scenes of rural New Zealand — the perfect calming backdrop for scary medical procedures! In the uptake rooms, backlit sheer curtains create a soft, home-like environment to help patients feel at ease during their visit.

Any project this complex is the work of a community. Along with Focusplan and Inline Architecture Ltd, we were assisted by Shaun Hendry Plastering, Attainable Limited, Outside The Block Ltd, Aquapro Plumbing and Drainage and Potter Interior Systems.

The new site is functioning and taking bookings, open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm. You can find out more by visiting Reform Radiology's website.
